I got a chance to see one of my favorite Pittsburgh artists speak last night (Although it was only for a few minutes). Bovey Lee’s works are breathtaking to see in person, each piece is constructed of rice paper over silk and cut out by hand with an exacto knife. I only posted the one because I think you need to look at the detail of a piece, rather than the usual flood of works I would post.

It makes my brain hurt trying to figure out how she can think about negative spaces in the ways that she does.
